Part 1: mosey to the tennis courts for some running and “get ups”
we used the width of 5 of the courts for suicides stopping and returning from the close sideline of each court. at each line we did one “hand-release” burpee, and at the home-line we did one Turkish get up alternating arms each time.

Part 2: we moseyed to the small lot beside the tennis courts where some workout apparatus awaited: pallets with rope to do “lat-pulls”, car tires and sledge hammers to do “golf swings”, 12″ (extra large) coupons to do overhead walk, and log chains to drag with on leg (just to make us walk like zombies. There were two each of these, each in their own parking space for a total of 8 spaces. each Pax took a space and the remaining were instructed to “work” alternating 1 burpee and 1 Turkish get-up until we all rotated spots. The work with the equipment was to move the item across the lot and back.

Part 3: After rotating through the entire set-up twice, we moseyed back to the tennis courts to re-do the suicides, then back to the parking lot for COT.

It was commented that it certainly sounded like zombies while we dragged chains and pallets across the asphalt. Also, I was mighty proud of the PAX as “you-vs-you” became a call to push harder than the Q called for. For example, while dragging the chains, I saw one PAX incorporating a lung, and another doing bent over rows after finishing the overhead carry with the 12″ coupon while waiting for the six.

Ran to football field scoreboard and did Blackjack. Starting on the path we did 1 mercan and ran up hill plus 20 yds and did 20 LBC’s and ran another 20 yds and did 10 coupon curls. Ran back to start and did 2 mercans, 19 LBC’s and 10 more curls. Repeat until time is finished with mercan’s and LBC’s adding up to 21.

About halfway through we had apparently stirred up some gnats. It felt more like roulette as we randomly hit pockets of bugs while running.

Mosey to Hole 1 – which turned out to actually be Hole 3. Apparently the Q used an old map to plan the beatdown without knowing it was an old map. So, what follows is a representation of what happened but not the actual Thang that happened. Honestly, it all got a bit fuzzy after the 3rd or 4th Hole – it might have been a little hot.

We played frisbee golf. Each hole got 2 free tosses to complete. If the frisbee was not in the basket on the 3rd toss = 2 burpess – side note, we did a lot of burpees, let’s just leave it at that.

Hole 2 – 50 High Knees then Army Crawl the remainder of the way to the hole. Jail Break to the next tee box.

Hole 10 – Coupon toss to the hole – 10 Burpee Press Makers – made that up.
Hole 11 – Coupon carry back to bleachers then assembled on final tee box. Honestly, I don’t remember what we did to get to the last hole but we got there. Final exercise – 10 Plank Busters – combination of plank, catalina, Merkin and plank jack – a little gift from our DR brothers in Louisville.

Man it was hot!!! Huge group made it to F2 at North Lime. Good morning. Thanks for everyone’s effort to make it an awesome beatdown.

Completing a Duggar without a Duggar is like an ice cream sundae with no ice cream; pizza with no crust; Starbucks with no cup; Incognito with no Facebook – opps, wait that’s what Incognito means, forget that one; Kentucky with no basketball; Axe throwing with no axes; Lincoln Logs with no logs; Water buckets with no water; Fireworks with no…fire; a hot dog without a dog; and, F3 with no F’s.

With the threat of an incoming storm YHC decided maybe to keep it a little closer to the parking lot than normal. 6) Mosey to FB field and did 10 body weight squats, then proceeded to the bleachers for coupon work. One coupon per person do your choice(s) of exercise for 1 minute.

Basically at each Picnic shelter we did an Ab activity, an agility activity and an arm activity geared toward muscular endurance. The moseying helped with cardio.

3 cones were setup about 15 yards apart from the starting spot. PAX worked in teams of 2 while the 1st PAX worked on the given reps the 2nd PAX did burpee suicides with the 3 cones, run to 1st cone and do 1 burpee then back to start, run to 2nd cone and do 2 burpees, 3rd cone and 3 burpees.

Work at the start was completed as following:
50 – BB sit-ups
100 – Overhead press with coupon
150 – Merkins (did lunges instead of burpees on the run for this round)

Moseyed to the far bottom end of the parking lot near the “no Dumping” sign.

Placed a coupon at the top of the hill near the baseball field foul pole, placed a bag-o-corn at the bottom of the hill.

PAX lined up side by side facing the hill. Began by all together run up the hill for 2 burpees and back down again. Then the first PAX in line headed up the hill alone for 10 incline merkins, 10 bent over coupon rows, and 10 overhead coupon presses. Meanwhile the remaining PAX passed the bag-o-corn back and forth until the first Pax returned to the far end of the line. Then all Pax took a trip up the hill for 2 burpees and the subsequent PAX at the front of the line made the lonely trip up the hill while the Bag-o-corn began its back and forth journey again.

Once all Pax had made the solo run we moved into round two which worked the same way except the individual PAX did 10 (2-is1) coupon lunges, 10 (2-is-1) mountain climbers, and 10 coupon squats at the top of the hill. Meanwhile the bag-o-corn was passed and the corporate journeys up the hill for 2 burpees remained the same.

The Q messed up his own work out by forgetting to enforce the corporate run and burpees between each individual run during the first round. Overall it was a solid WO but made too easy by this “oops”. The second round was much better 🙂 I think I lead this one again to see if I can get it right next time.

We ended by naming the two FNG’s of the morning (welcome!)

After a mosey to the basketball courts, we did an extensive warm up consisting of 20 dynamic exercises.

We ran to the scoreboard and did 10 hill sprints. From there, some kind person left four orange cones 50 yards apart in a square with a giant tire in the middle of the square. At cone 1 you had to complete 10 merkins then run to the center and flip the tire. We then ran to cone 2 and did 10 BB sit-ups returning to the tire for another flip. Cone 3 was 10 squat jumps and cone four was 10 SS hops. When that was completed you started over doing 9 of each and so on.

Started off with a baseball theme as Lou Gehrig’s “Luckiest Man” speech was on July 4, 1939. We did lunges with a body twist at the bottom across both basketball courts and back.
Did plank to sprints across the sidelines of one basketball court. Did this every 8 seconds 8 times, with a short break and repeato. A total of 4 circuits or 32 sprints.

Next we did 17 Merkins and 76 Mountain Climbers in honor of 1776.
Then 56 squats in honor of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence
Then 39 squats in honor of the 39 men who signed the US Constitution
Finally 6 burpees in honor of the 6 men who signed both documents
Finished up at the basketball court with 17 Merkins and 96 SSH’s

Moseyed over to the coupons on the football field.
Did 18 lunges (18 on each leg) and 26 side-to-side Merkins in honor of Thomas Jefferson and John Adams who both died on July 4, 1826.

Next up was to work on our Guns since we Americans love guns.
We divided up into 2 groups.
1st group had coupons. We did the following bicep moves with those coupons:

A Side of Corn
To the side of the COP were four 50# bags of dry corn feed waiting. Remembering their number, PAX lined up groups of 3 behind each bag and two odd PAX out grabbed the extra bag. We moseyed up the hill to a pair of awaiting coupons in the grass, swapping the bags/coupons occasionally so everyone could get in a carry.

3 lines consisting of 1 PAX, 1 Coupon, 1 Bag-o-Corn, Remaining PAX in that order, back to front.
Rear PAX drops for one Man-Maker with the coupon. Steps forward, places coupon behind the next PAX and runs to the front of the line. The remaining PAX pass the Bag-o-Corn to the front of the line. Once the back PAX reaches the front, he receives the bag and waits for the next PAX to arrive and passes it forward.
Only the rear PAX is allowed to advance the line by moving to the front, all other PAX are stationary.
Repeat until advancing the Bag-o-Corn roughly 14 yrds.
YHC left his 4 man line and went to the 3-man line, PAX queued up again as before and advanced the bag back to the start. This time the rear PAX did 2 Man-Makers.

We moseyed up the hill to a quadrant of awaiting coupons on the football field, swapping the bags/coupons occasionally so everyone could get in a carry.

– Tire Flips: PAX flipped the tire and jumped through, out twice each and back.
– Corn Presses: 1 PAX shoulder pressed the Bag-o-Corn while the remaining PAX flipped a card and did the corresponding Deck of Death exercise.

– Clean the Corn: 1 PAX performed Bag-o-Corn Cleans (picked the bag up from the ground to shoulders) while the remaining PAX flipped a card and did the corresponding Deck of Death exercise.

All PAX continued to work until the tire flippers return to the starting position. Then PAX lunge walked to the next station and repeated until out of time.

We put the coupons away and moseyed back to the AO with the remains of the bags.

PAX kept pretty good pace with each other, so there was very little waiting for the 6. This also meant there were very few breaks. My goal the last few Q’s has been to step it up a notch for our younger PAX headed off to basic training, so I didn’t want to allow too much time for catching our breath. Wednesdays are for running, so if we were on our feet and not WORKing, we were running.

I’m proud of Liberace and Miyagi’s attendance these past few weeks. I am glad you have been posting and putting in the work to prepare for the work you have ahead. We are all very excited and proud to see you men start your next journey at West Point.

Coupons are often thrown, dropped, tossed in disgust or dismissed for being cold, rough-edged and heavy. Today, we showed them some love. Gave them a break from sitting lonely on the cool ground with others piled on top of them haphazardly without regard for mud or insects. Today, was the coupons day to be mobile, see a bit of the AO and feel the strong, mostly, hands of the PAX or the the warmth of their body. So, here’s to you F3 coupon, this is your day.

HIMs were instructed once the coupon left the ground, it was not to be returned until instructed to by the Q at the end of the beatdown. This was only violated once which resulted in a modified Manmaker exercise which included rolling around in the wet grass. Since he’s still trying to figure out the internet we can let you know that Incognito was to blame for the extra move.

Each round, one PAX was chosen to be the runner circling the group while the others loved their coupon. 4 rounds, 2 x through = 8 and it just so happened we had 8 HIMs today. Perfecto

1st partner completed camel merkins over 2 coupons (2 regular merkins, 2 incline merkins, 2 decline merkins – repeat over the 2nd coupon) while partner 2 ran ~60 yards to the end of the lot and completed Big Boy Situps AMRAP. Each PAX completed 5 rounds (70 total camel merkins)

Round 2
1st partner completed 20 coupon squats while partner 2 ran to the end of the lot and completed American Hammers AMRAP. Each PAX completed 5 rounds (100 total coupon squats)

Round 3
1st partner completed 20 coupon curls while partner 2 ran ~30 yards and completed flutter/scissor kicks AMRAP. PAX sprinted the stretch back to the coupons each time. PAX completed 5 rounds (100 total coupon curls)

Jogged to the nearest coupons and did 20 curls. Using one of the coupons and a curb about 30ft apart we did the Ascending Curb Crawl. Starting on the curb with feet on it we did 1 Mercian then bear crawled to the coupon and did 2 Mercains. Kept going until we reached 13 mercans. Finished with 20 curls. Then jogged to the scoreboard and did 10 hill sprints. Then, jogged to the bleachers and each got 2 coupons. Started with 20 curls and then carried both blocks down the hill and did 1 big boy sit up. Carried the blocks back up the hill and did 2 bb sit-ups and so on to 10. Finished with 20 curls. Jogged back to starting spot.

The Burpees at a 6-count cadence was not pretty, this was a lesson in doing On Your Own (OYO) instead. We practiced by doing 10 burpees OYO.
To teach that there are other options for OYO, we did 9 burpees.
PAX still didn’t get the message, so we did 8 burpees.
Continued until we did only 1 burpee…you might call this a Burpee Apocalypse.

After the 1/2 mile mosey we began 8 minutes of Cindy — 5 pull ups, 10 merkins, 15 squats. Q encouraged PAX to focus on quality of form and reps over quantity.

After first round of Cindy, we switched gears and did a 4 minute tabatta with 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest. Round 1 – wall sits.

After the tabatta we returned to Cindy for 4 minutes

RED Rocks

As I was trolling the local discount store a few weeks back, I happened across some D-20 dices with exercises on each side.  They are foam and approximately 4 inches in diameter.   And they looked just right for inflicting F3 Pain.  So I got three different of these die each different from the other.   This AM we left our WO up to the roll of the “rocks”.

PAX split into 3 groups and rotated which die was cast.  This took place near the shelter at the top of the parking lot.  Some of the listed exercises required a wall or bench to complete, hence the shelter.  OH!, also, there is “water break” listed once on each die.  Naturally in good F3 fashion we couldn’t have that!  So, when any group rolled a “water break”, they were to shout in unison “water break, we don’t need no stinking water break” and subsequently run down the three tiers of the parking lot touching the farthest curb before the return run up the hill.  And just to be sure this didn’t feel like a rest, we added 5 BBS and 5 merkins on each tier on the way back up the hill.

Continued rolling the rocks and doing the work until 6:15.

I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. It was actually quite fun.  There was a certain unknown, “luck” element to the whole thing, and also getting to watch the others groups celebrate or suffer with each roll of the die while your own group did the same built some sense of comradery which was unexpected.  One group did about 75 burpees along with other exercises, while another group only did maybe 10, but they had at least 4 “water Breaks”!  so it was really varied. Definitely a WO to try again, the randomness makes each time unique, which keeps things interesting!
