To warm the frozen Pax, they fell into a burning Ring of Fire.

In a large area, set up six different exercise stations in a circle.

Pax spent 1 1/2 minutes at the station doing the exercise (AMRAP) and then rotate around the ring of fire to the next exercise (All pax rotate at the same time). :30 rest in-between.

A half-field mosey took place between rounds. Had enough time to do two rounds, switching up exercises between rounds.

In teams of two, the PAX took a base and completed AMRAP exercises there until relieved. Once the team at Home completed 10 burpees, all the runners would advance. When the last team completed their burpees, we ran an interior loop of the parking lot.

On November 20th-21st 27 HIMS along with several 2.0’s and pets set out to complete 24 continuous hours of Rucking in support of Toto (Stefan Kern) and family as they return to Africa as missionaries in 2021.

Each pax that participated in this event set out to achieve their own personal goals, reach new records of distance and grow in the relationships that are helping to build and serve our local community. This event was a huge success as evidenced by these highlights:

250+ combined miles were rucked over the 24 hour period
82+ combined hours of rucking took place between our PAX
$4500+ raised and counting to support Toto’s family
29 – miles logged by Lansbury, who set out to ruck a Marathon and then returned with his 2.0’s to add a few more miles
1 to 72 – The age range of ruckers and 2.0’s that participated in the event

  • Great work by 49er to set personal distance and time records on your journey to better health and fitness
  • Oshag was the only other PAX outside of Lansbury to hit the 20+ mile mark and he didn’t lose any flags in the process!
  • Great work by 2.0’s that participated: Matlock, Eazy E, Giggles, Trilogy, Maggie, Kate and Aubree
  • Great idea by Muck to support our brother as we Plant Grow and Serve in our community and beyond!

In teams of three (one group had four), the PAX took a base and completed AMRAP exercises there until relieved. Once the team at Home completed 10 burpees, all the runners would advance. When the last team completed their burpees, we ran a loop around the tennis courts.

Little known fact… the 50th is the gold anniversary; the 25th is silver, and so on. The 29th celebration involves a ruck with a bunch of sweaty guys in the gloom at 5:30am. Who knew? 🙂

We mosey’d to the football field to grab individual coupons, then took them to the basketball court.

The Q has been missing Red Flanders’ dice workout, so decided to make the investment. Red’s are better, but these will do for today. Soundtrack was primed and ready to go.

One dice has exercises: lunges, merkins, squats, SSH’s, crunches, and a wildcard (coupon work). Variation took place at the Q’s discretion: plank jacks, lunges with twist, curls, bentover rows, shoulder press, etc.

The other six sided dice has 30, 60, or 90 seconds. And 10, 20, and 30 reps.

After a host of exercises were performed (too many to list), we finished up to the song “Get Down” by Audio Adrenaline. Started off planking, then every time the phrase, “Get Down” came on, we merkined (about 3 minutes).

Mosey back to the football field to return coupons. Mosey back to the flag.

Once the batter completed 15 burpees, all the runners would advance. When the last batter had completed his burpees, he would yell, “Touch ‘Em All”, and the PAX would round the bases. Note: Burpees were shortened to 10 to speed up rotation.

Split into four groups of four (Home, 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base).

Each base had four rounds of AMRAP exercises. The group at Home did 15 burpees (or modified Flying Squirrels). Note: This was reduced to 10 to speed up rotation.

Once completed, they would head to 1st base and relieve that group… 1st base group would head to 2nd base (and so forth). When all groups had done burpees at Home, there was a jailbreak to the bottom of the hill, then Bernies back up the hill. Then we would take a two minute break to talk about the attributes of a good father (using the letters F-A-T-H-E-R). Repeated for four rounds.
